In case the moon gets sighted, the special Taraweeh prayers, held on each night of Ramadan, would begin from today.
Again, this depends on the sighting of the new crescent moon.
It has been announced that the Holy Month of Ramadan will officially start on Thursday 17 May in the UAE.

Ramadan is also a time of feasting with family and friends. Bego disclosed that the free feeding would be in 42 centers across the state's 17 local government areas. Past year more accidents happened in the late morning rush hour between 10am and 11am than any other time.
It is believed that the practice of abstinence and prayer during Ramadan will bring them closer to Allah.
