Apple's MacBook Pros have always been the most powerful and - to be sure - most expensive laptops in the company's lineup.
"That addresses one of the key complaints with the system and should make life a little easier for users who regularly bring their MacBooks into meetings - or worse yet, the library". The new chip also allows users to call out Siri for the first time on a MacBook Pro.
Apple today unveiled its next generation MacBook Pro featuring up to 6-Core processors and 32GB of memory, True Tone Display and the Apple T2 chip. The new 13-inch models have moved from a Quad core chip to 3.1 GHz Quad-core chip at 2.3 GHz, and the new 15-inch model dropped from a Quad-core configuration with 2.8 GHz and 2.9 GHz six-core processors up to 2.6 GHz. "The MacBook Pro 13 pushes a resolution of 2560×1600 while the 15" version does 2880×1800. If you're looking to purchase a new 15-inch MacBook Pro, your only option is the newest model with the eighth-generation Intel Coffee Lake processors. If you need more graphics processing power, Blackmagic Design also announced their eGPU powered by a Radeon Pro 580 graphics card.
You'd have to go to the MacBook Pro's page to discover it, but the Blackmagic eGPU is there, and it's labeled as "only at Apple." This means Apple partnered with Blackmagic for this specific model. Apple is now selling the new models online via Apple.com, and retail stores across the world will likely get stock of the new hardware over the coming days. It will be available in Saddle Brown, Midnight Blue, and Black. Presumably all of them, because Apple says both models can connect to up to four external GPUs, or two 5K displays.
