The CNN broadcaster released on Wednesday an alleged recording of the then USA presidential candidate Donald Trump's conversation with his former attorney Michael Cohen, where the two seem to be discussing payments to buy the rights to an adult-film actress's story about her purported affair with Trump.
A transcript, provided by President Trump's legal team, shows that the then-GOP presidential nominee does not register confusion or surprise when Cohen refers to a plan to purchase the rights to McDougal's story from American Media Inc., the parent company of the National Enquirer.
Giuliani said the conversation was held at Trump's office in Trump Tower and that Cohen used a hidden device to record the conversation.
A combination photo shows U.S. President Donald Trump's onetime personal attorney, Michael Cohen and U.S. President Donald Trump from outside federal court in the Manhattan borough of New York City, New York, U.S., April 16, 2018 and in the White House in Washington, U.S., July 18, 2018. His current lawyer denies that payment took place. The president also questioned the abrupt ending of the recording, suggesting the tape was cut off before the president started talking about positive things. "This one isn't as long, it's only 15 years or so, but so much of the high hopes of the haters have been predicated on the destruction of the Cohen-Trump relationship".
"I need to open up a company for the transfer of all of that info regarding our friend David", Cohen said in the recording, likely a reference to American Media head David Pecker. Collins said she told them she was being banned because "you don't like the questions I asked", and they responded that her network wasn't banned, "but you are not invited to the Rose Garden today".
The tape captures the soon-to-be president and his lawyer discussing logistics of financing and whether to "pay with cash", although the sound is muffled and Trump's instructions on that are unclear.More news: Sacha Baron Cohen Gets Republican Lawmaker To Strip & Yell Racial Slurs
Weisselberg, on the other hand, has worked for the Trump family since the 1970s, and knows more about the Trump Organization's history and finances than almost anyone.
-Trump was going off about an NBC story before a VFW audience when he said, "Don't believe the crap you see from these people-the fake news". He said in a tweet it was "perhaps illegal" for a lawyer to record a client. Trump can be heard after saying, "check".
Investigators are examining his role in buying the silence of a porn star who alleges an affair with Mr Trump. The former model said she had an affair with the now-president in 2006 around the time his son Barron was born. Despite the comments, the recording was leaked by CNN on Tuesday evening.

Cohen was proposing to pay AMI, which owns the National Enquirer newspaper, for the rights to McDougal's story.
But what's new and especially threatening to Trump's presidency is Cohen's material, of which there seems to be plenty. He has since become the Trump Organization's chief financial officer and one of the president's closest business confidants (alongside Jason Greenblatt, who was Trump's in-house legal counsel before the president named him as a special diplomatic envoy to the Middle East).
