A contestant of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz urged the country's election watchdog to increase the number of separate women polling stations in NA-258 in order to encourage women voters to cast their right of franchise freely.

If successful, the elections will mark only the second time a civilian government has handed power to another in Pakistan since the country's independence in 1947.
The PML-N, which came to power in a landslide 2013 vote, had sought to cast the election as a referendum on democracy, saying it was campaigning to protect the "sanctity of the vote", a reference to a history of political interference by the military. Sharif has clashed repeatedly with the military over the years and was jailed this month on corruption charges, which he is appealing.
It still wasn't clear whether Khan's Tehreek-e-Insaf would get a simple majority or have to form a coalition.
Before the vote, Pakistan's independent Human Rights Commission said the campaign had been characterized by "blatant, aggressive, and unabashed attempts to manipulate" the outcome, with a crackdown on the media and intimidation of candidates.
The five-party religious alliance, Muttehida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has failed to make its presence felt, even in its stronghold northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) and southwestern Balochistan provinces, and is leading only on 12 seats.
