"Totally legal", Rogan replied as Musk reached for the joint.

Musk stunned investors a month back with tweets saying he had funding to take the company private for $420 per share. He was honest, possibly drunk and stoned: "I think people should be nicer to each other ..."

Musk apologised to Unsworth in July for similar insults he made on Twitter following the rescue of a dozen Thai schoolboys and their football coach from a cave in Thailand.

The company disclosed the departure in a regulatory filing.
The podcast episode arrived at a tumultuous moment for Tesla and Musk.
"You probably can't do this because of stockholders, right?"

"The interesting thing about an electric plane is that you want to go as high as possible, but you need a certain energy density in the battery pack, because you have to overcome gravitational potential energy", Musk said.
