"Maisel", about a 1950s housewife who turns to standup comedy, took home the Emmy for best comedy series.
"And one of the things I love the most about this show while I have you captive for another two seconds, it's about a woman who is finding her voice anew", she said. So it was little surprise when she took the stage as victor for her role as an unlikely "50s era comedian in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It's because I want to call you my wife", Weiss said.
Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels accepts the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Sketch series.
