During an exchange with reporters at the United Nations General Assembly, President Trump (as quoted by Axios) referred to Ramirez as "the second accuser", adding that she "has nothing".
"I am with him all the way".
Ramirez allegations came out on Sunday, in the NY magazine.
These stories about Kavanaugh and young women got a much darker cast when Christine Blasey Ford told The Washington Post that he had sexually assaulted her when he was 17 and she was 15. "Senate Republicans should stand up to these unsubstantiated and discredited allegations and move forward with a vote to confirm Kavanaugh". Claims that Ramirez consulted with other people to clarify her recollections, Clune argued, "was just smart investigation to make sure that she wasn't remembering things inaccurately or by the passage of time".
Putting aside the fact that neither of the assaults Kavanaugh is alleged to have committed at Georgetown Prep and Yale would have required the loss of virginity, at least one of his classmates takes issue with that claim. "Editors from the New Yorker contacted some of us because we are the people who would know the truth, and we told them that we never saw or heard about this".
She alleged that Mr Kavanaugh exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party.
"This is not something that can be done by the Senate", Clune said.
The nomination would fail if Collins and another Republican join all of the Democrats in opposing Kavanaugh.

He said they appear "more interested in a political takedown" than a bipartisan process.
However, in a joint statement to The Washington Post on Tuesday, Sinclair and Rutzen said that new allegations require "a fair and credible investigation".
"So, feels like there's a lot of game-playing that's going on right now by the majority party", said the lawyer.
The CNN host asked if the lawyer Ramirez first spoke to - former Boulder District Attorney Stan Garnett - was "politically motivated" and "encouraged her to specifically cite Judge Kavanaugh even though her memory was not full on that". Ford claims Kavanaugh tried removing her clothes and covered her mouth to prevent screams after he pinned her on a bed during a high school party.
Mr Avenatti said he will disclose his client's identity in the coming days and that she is prepared to give evidence before the committee, as well as provide names of corroborating witnesses.
The White House did not respond to the allegations on behalf of Kavanaugh.
