"It's good to be back", said McGregor, who hasn't fought since losing to Mayweather 14 months ago in a boxing match where he was badly outclassed. Just past the 30-minute mark, McGregor finally arrived to a huge cheer and the former two-division champion answered a steady stream of questions.
McGregor has made a habit of arriving late to scheduled events during his UFC career and continued it at by turning up on his own time to a press conference in NY last month. I don't know where he is.
"Conor has such a massive fan base that it's hard to move the number that much, so the increase we've seen from him is incredible", White said. "The traffic was kind of heavy".
"He knew what he signed up for", McGregor said.

"I tried to get here, I'm just a couple minutes late", McGregor said. "I'm going to take his head off", he said to the crowd, throwing in a few more choice words for the record.
"No, not yet. I need to talk to the big boss, Dana White, to make it happen". "I am starving for this man's head".
"Why I have to think about him?"
"I plan on knocking that man's nose right into the nosebleeds", McGregor added.
Afterwards he told the cheering audience: "Saturday night: You're in for a show, trust me on that".More news: Elon Musk takes a swing at the SEC, in a tweet
"I have to be careful with him", Nurmagomedov said.
"All the time, he gets exhausted, he gives up", Nurmagomedov said.
"I have a schedule", Nurmagomedov said.
"I may want to spark Khabib and then headline that Madison Square Garden card on November 3 (against Abdelaziz)".
"How do I come here if I don't believe in myself?"
"I did not plan this".
The fight is one of the most eagerly anticipated in the UFC after McGregor broke a window on a bus Nurmagomedov was on in Brooklyn in a frenzied attack nearly six months ago.
While Nurmagomedov and McGregor did not see each other on the stage Thursday, their mutual dislike was evident when they spoke about their fight.
Khabib is the favourite at [1.63] at the time of writing but if you are planning on having a bet, he is likely to drift as the contest approaches with recreational punters betting on McGregor on the back of Media Day on Wednesday and the Weigh-In on Friday.
"There will never be peace here", McGregor said. I always say you should aim for peace but if you can't aim for peace, aim between the eyes.
