The Xbox One October update is rolling out today, offering a few new bells and whistles for the Microsoft console. The console has not received a big update like this in quite some time, and users that were eager to try out the new Avatars since their reveal past year also have a lot to look forward to with the latest Xbox One update. The new avatars are completely optional as well, so fans can stick with their current avatar if they so choose and customize them in a dedicated Xbox Original Avatars app.
"Avatars will appear across your Xbox One". Your new Avatar will show up on your profile pages, feed, community posts, and pretty much anywhere you can make yourself show up.
Also, the Avatar Store would now permit users to acquire some new outfits and other equipment for their Avatars, such as items inspired by the Halo and Gears of War franchises. You can use a Photobooth to take a picture of your Avatar to use as your profile image. To set up the skill, start by saying "Alexa, open Xbox" or "Hey Cortana, open Xbox".
The Xbox Skill for Cortana and Alexa also released with the October update in the US, which allows people to navigate with voice controls through their Xbox One while using Cortana or Alexa-enabled devices, expanding beyond the previous capabilities with Kinect. It should download automatically the next time you start up your system.More news: No victor in Mega Millions Friday
