Beierle allegedly used a handgun and began firing at people without warning, police said. No motive for the shootings has been established.
Two people were killed and at least five others wounded in a shooting at a Florida hot yoga studio.
After the victims fought back, Beierle turned the gun on himself and killed himself, police said.
Maura Binkley Florida State University student Maura Binkley was a "beloved sister", her sorority said.
According to the Florida State College of Medicine's website, Van Vessem was in charge of coordinating third and fourth year clerkship rotations in internal medicine on the school's Tallahassee campus. "We feel this loss profoundly and we send our deepest sympathies to Maura's and Nancy's loved ones while we pray for the recovery of those who were injured".

"Our Capital Health Plan family is deeply shocked and saddened about the tragic loss of our beloved friend and colleague, Dr. Nancy Van Vessem, among the other victims of this bad incident", CHP said in a statement. In a statement, the company said: 'As CHP's longtime chief medical director, Nancy has been a guiding, visionary force in our daily work to serve the wellness and health care needs of thousands of families in this community.
'Our hearts are filled with sorrow and prayers for her family. "We all have been so blessed to have Nancy in our lives", the company said.
In 2014, Beierle was charged with trespassing at FSU. "They said it sounds like someone was hitting sheet metal". And one woman, Courtnee Connon, who told the Tallahassee Democrat that Beierle grabbed her buttocks in her dining hall at FSU in 2012, said she spoke with police but ultimately decided not to pursue charges against Beierle.
The U.S. Army said Beierle had been a second lieutenant and served as a field artilleryman. Detectives are searching for links between him and the victims.
Other victims, barefoot from their class, came into the bar in shock and barely able to speak, except to say "shooter", the newspaper reported. Scott and Gillum both visited gunshot victims, including one who had been shot nine times. Two died at the hospital and two were in stabled condition and three later release.
According to the hospital's Twitter page, there will be a service tomorrow honoring the two women who died.
Friday's bloodshed prompted Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, who is also Florida's Democratic candidate for governor, to halt his campaign temporarily.
