Earlier in June 2017, Musk had tweeted that Tesla was in discussions with Indian hovergover for 'temporary relief on import penalties/restrictions until a local factory is built'.
Musk wrote, "Tesla will be there (in India) as soon as he (Deepak) believes we should". Tesla has other models such as Roadster, Model S and Model X are another such examples.
He recalled that the tunnel is going to open on December 10. While Tesla will set up auto production facilities in Europe and China, the company plans to set up battery manufacturing plants in every continent to keep the costs in line.

Following the launch of the Model 3 previous year, Tesla repeatedly missed aggressive production targets for the new vehicle, blaming "manufacturing bottlenecks".
Elon Musk's SpaceX had launched the mannequin and the auto to space in February aboard the Falcon Heavy rocket, which many perceived as nothing but a publicity stunt by the Tesla boss to commemorate the inaugural voyage of the rocket.
A former Tesla employee, Martin Tripp, sought whistleblower protection and filed SEC complaints claiming that Musk had overstated production numbers, which Tesla has disputed.
This expanding aggressive SEC probe could set up a new hurdle for a company that last month said it had finally resurfaced into profitability, thanks to rising sales of the M-3.
Tesla shares closed up less than half a per cent to $346.41 on Friday.
