Trump's comments to reporters as he left the White House came in response to reports that an FBI investigation that was opened after Trump fired then-Director James B. Comey in May 2017 included a component to determine whether the president was seeking to help Russian Federation.
The newspaper's report said the agency started investigating Trump in 2017, after he had fired former FBI Director James Comey.
He added: "I think it's a disgrace that you even ask that question because it's a whole big fat hoax".
Trump also took issue with Washington Post report that he had concealed details about his meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and confiscated his interpreter's notes.
