The movie business got mutliplied on Saturday and earned a whopping Rs 18.10 crore taking the two days total collection to Rs 26.85 crore.
In contrast, Thackeray starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, which was released the same day, fared better as it colelcted Rs 6 crore on the opening day. Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi tells the tale of Rani Laxmibai, who fought till her last breath against the East India Company and the British to prevent her kingdom of Jhansi from falling into their hands. The film released on Friday to great reviews.
The movie is facing competition from a bunch of releases both in North and South India, including Ranveer Singh's Simmba, Vicky Kaushal's Uri, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Thackeray, Rajinikanth's Petta and Ajith's Viswasam. The movie casts Kangana Ranaut as Manikarnika, Atul Kulkarni, Jisshu Sengupta performing the lead roles in the movie, the story of the movie is narrated by Amitabh Bachchan.
