The NWS warns of heavy snow, possibly mixed with freezing drizzle.
Seattle's metro area has already been hit by three snowstorms this month and the National Weather Service reports that Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has received 14.1 inches of snow so far in February. There could be a quarter inch of ice in some of the suburbs, which might make a mess for the Tuesday morning commute. The weather service said that was colder than the Arctic coast or North Slope of Alaska.
A wintery mix of snow and sleet is forecast to fall overnight Monday and much of Tuesday in the tri-state area, making for a risky day of commuting. For the southern parts of Mid-Michigan, the snow will change to rain and freezing rain, then back to snow during the day Tuesday.
Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for Brantford and Brant County, warning of a combination of 10 to 20 centimetres of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain on Tuesday. "Snow rates around an inch per hour are possible Tuesday afternoon".

Schools and universities closed across Washington state and the Legislature cancelled all hearings Monday as the Northwest dealt with snow and ice and prepared for more as a series of winter storms socked the region.
The storm could create hard travel conditions.
Ed Vallee, owner and meteorologist at Empire Weather LLC said: "A fast-moving storm will impact the Northeast Monday night through Tuesday night with a plethora of precipitation types".
The snow is expected to taper off Wednesday afternoon.
